Well, here we are smack in the middle of winter and wishing for warmer climate. The daylight is sparse, but believe it or not we are gaining 4 minutes or so of sunlight a day! I thought what better project to occupy my time during a cold winter evening than starting a blog? (Chelsea, this is all your fault... :) What a great way to try and connect our lives with everyone we love.
Actually, having time to start projects like this blog is a dream come true. I am still working at RE/MAX and loving every bit of it. I graduated from University of Phoenix with my bachelor’s degree in Business Management at the end of October...Go Me!! I am so happy to have some actual free time now. I was worried that graduation would be a little anti-climatic because I opted not to travel to Phoenix and walk with my class. However, Marc came through in a real big way. He had a surprise birthday/graduation get together at one of my favorite restaurants downtown. We had such a great time, and the best part...my brand new Chanel purse Marc gave to me for a graduation gift. I have always wanted one, and never in a million years dreamed of actually owning one. I guess all of that hard school work really paid off. I have to be honest; I was a little scared wondering what I would do with my evenings since they wouldn't be filled with the never ending term papers. I fell right into the routine though. I was mostly looking forward to Marc and I spending some actual quality time together, which still proves to be tough some weeks.
Marc is managing 5 projects for the USDA, all of which keep him really busy. When he is not working his day job, he has a thriving handyman business doing projects around town on the evenings and weekends. He is continually handed more jobs than he can handle. The winter is a good time for us to spend time together though, because Marc doesn't have too many fishing or hunting trips...Hey, we all have our priorities.
This time of year there are always activities around town to occupy our not already filled time. Marc and I share of love of the Alaska Ace's Hockey games which we try to attend as frequently as possible. We love throwing Wii parties...Tiger Woods PGA Tour '08 is our fav! We are becoming quite the professional golfers...even though I have actually never really golfed in real life...I think I might have to start though. Coming up is the "Fur Rondy" which is an annual mid-February Festival that has all sorts of events including a 5K run that we have both enjoyed in the past years, there is a winter carnival, Outhouse Racing, ice bowling, and a ton more to look forward to. After the Fur Rondy comes the Iditarod in mid-March, which is always a fun celebration.
I obviously need to work on taking more pictures and this blog will keep me motivated to actually do so!!! Next post I promise to have actual up to date pics.
We love you all!!!
