You have to LOVE remodeling...yeah right. As exciting as it is to think of the final finished product...the process is horrible. I hate my house in construction zone. It is dirty, dusty, muddy, wet, sloppy, stinky...you name it, that is my house right now.
That being said...I have to mention how super, awesomely wonderful my husband is. I have the best, most handy husband in this entire world. He is doing the entire remodel all on his own...with the help of a few friends. I know he has to dread these projects...which is why our personal remodels are always done last (that and they spend money, not make money)...but we have no more time to waste now that baby is on the way. While he does dread it, he is working his butt off this weekend. We are on a marathon long weekend of gutting and remodeling the entire bathroom. Since we only have one bathroom (that's right...I am going to be pottying in a bucket) we have to make this bathroom remodel SUPER quick. So he and his buddies are working away.
Oh how I love how handy my husband is. So, first the bathroom, then the baby room, then new carpet, next new trim, new doors, and lastly new upstairs windows. I guess you could say we are getting an entirely new upstairs. But the bathroom will be the biggest project. And my handy husband is working his butt off!
Here are some shots so you can see what I am living through right now. (Yesterday we had no running water, so at least I have that again)
The staging/work area is babies soon to be room.

Tile Saw.

Our neighbor Marcus helping out in the gutted bathroom.

Our crappy carpet...which has gotten 100% worse the last 2 days.
Thank goodness carpet is next on the list.

And last but not least...my toilet during the night!
During the day I have been using the neighbors toilet.
The boys are lucky enough to use good old nature as their restroom...no bucket for them.

This really does look like a lot of work - you go MARC!! Just think how exciting and happy you'll be when this is ALL done! Hurray!! I'm glad you're peeing in the bucket NOW and not at 8 or 9 months - you would probably fall IN it at that time!! Love you sis!
That sucks I feel so bad for you but when its all done it will be so nice and worth it! What a good hubby you have! Thats awesome he is willing to help and do all the work plus he will save you guys tons of money. Cant wait to see it when its done. good luck!
Oh Chani! I am so excited to see it done but I'm sorry you have to deal with it now! Your hubby is awesome to be doing all that though & it will be SO nice when it is done! I have to agree with your sis though, its better to be peeing in the bucket now & get it done before you get too much bigger! I can't wait to see the finished product!
How are you feeling?
♥ Miss ya!
It will be worth it in the end. Will your home be done by the time your bundle of joy arrives?
I hate the remodeling process as well, but it will look amazing when you are done, and you will be so glad you peed in a bucket for a week just to get it done. I once talked John into remodeling our bathroom one weekend when we went to Home Depot just to get a deadbolt for the back door, so I feel your pain. It was our only bathroom at the time! Good luck, I know you guys will make it look amazing.
